Artist Statement
As an artist I feel as though my world, as well as the one around me, is constantly changing. With a constantly changing world, I am constantly finding new things to fight for and to fight against. Growing up, being greek was always a large part of who I was and our families immigration story to America had a large impact on me. For the past couple years the world has had a heavy focus on immigration in America and it made me look back at my own families history. I learned about the immigration act of 1917 and other histories that I was never taught before. It inspired me to attempt to bring to light the different histories of everyone and not just the one we learn in school. This inspired me to create art fighting against the immigration climate our country is currently in.
